Instructions to make to make Methi Dal

  1. First washed and chopped the Fenugreek leaves.wash chana dal and put dal in a pressure cooker along with two cups of water.add 1 tsp salt and 1/4 tsp turmeric powder.cook for 3-4 whistle or until the dal turns soft.
  2. Take a wok or kadhai add oil heat it add cumin seeds when they splatters add chopped onion saute until they turn translucent.now add ginger garlic paste saute until raw smell goes.now add kashmiri red chilli powder, turmeric powder green chillies, red chilli powder and salt mix well and cook for 1 minute.
  3. Now add methi leaves cooked a minute add chopped tomatoes and coriander powder mix well and cook for 2-3 minutes.keep stirring.add boiled dal mix all very well.add one cup water mix it.cover and cook for 10 minutes on medium flame.
  4. Now take a tempering pan add ghee heat it now add cumin and Fenugreek seeds when they start crackle add broken whole chilli.roast it few seconds then turn off the flame put the tempering on cooked methi dal.the yummy methi dal is ready to serve.
